Yes, it’s a fact that I’ve tried to share with others. Blaming one country over another isn’t quite right. The wealthy across all nations earn similar amounts of money and emit comparable levels of greenhouse gases. The 50% will blame the 10%, the 10% will blame the 1%. The 1% will blame the 0.01%.

Guess what? The top 10% in the world is North America and Western Europe.

I’m skeptical. I think it’s more likely that once they understand that their money will not insulate them from climate breakdown, they’ll be buying that one way ticket to Mars.
