His friend on an adjacent table pointed out that this one destroys a card 'on any field' so he could destroy the floodgate in his friends game for him.

This reads crazy scary until you realize this isn't a change because regionals were already tier 2 events that weren't supposed to be running time wizard events instead of time travel ones anyway. You again, like last time, can still run the time wizard events themselves, and during/at locals.
