I really miss the energy of nomura interviews of back in the day. He would say something silly or super left field and people would flip out.

I figured they'd use FF7R localization.
Grenade bomb was also relocalized as 'fire in the hole'. Blade beam into blade burst, I checked them all. Weird decisions overall because they basically retranslated words that were already english

I think the funniest irony is that some SE fans wants them to go back in the era where they released 3 games a year, throwing darts and see what sticks. Except they still do that but with smallscale and gachas.

I remember people saying it was inspired by FFXV or versus atleast back in the day. of course since Final Fantasy is involved in the talk I guess it was inevitable that the conversation would turn negative somehow.

I can put aside stuff that aren't limitless and can be bought later but 'limited' or 'timed' stuff like signed postcards really edge my fomo. I don't need it and likely won't have enough space for them, will eat my savings, but god do I want them.

content creation is bizarre, it's no longer a 'new' thing but also it's not that old. creators I follow have been saying 'it may end tomorrow' for 2 decades now because no one is sure.

discussing combat direction for the franchise is a moot point when you look up the various interviews across many years. they've been gunning for that real time feel for decades, adding more as hardware improved. FFXs battle only became trad. turnbased because they couldn't pull of their og vision.

AND characters. FF fans either hate the guts out of a cast or adopt them as their children. Happens with a lot of games with story but not to the extend that Persona or FF games do. Even E33, whom people claim has an amazing cast, hardly see them discuss the characters.

It is arguably one of the most influential games out there but also it is so influential that many people actively try to find reasons to not pick it for lists, influence etc..
