It's finally arrived!! Probably one of the best Blind buys I've ever done. Reminiscent of Oud Maracujá by Maison Criveli less garish. Also the sample they sent, Nirmohee is to die for!! I will be purchasing a full bottle.

Felt like Acar. So I made one with julienne carrots, daikon, cucumbers. Drenched in a pickle juice made of rock sugar, rock salt, Cane Vinegar, Chilli flakes, Bayleaf, Mustard Seeds and Peppercorns.

Many are unaware that, like our Pacific counterparts in Melanesia, we too have an extensive tattooing tradition. However it is mainly women who are tattooed as a form of milestone markers e.g puberty, marriage etc. This corroborates the Samoan legend of Fijian sisters introducing tattooing to Samoa.

I like to say we Melanesians are "Blak" but not "Black" when differentiating to our culture and Identity. "Blak", as not to appropriate the rich Culture & History of the African Diaspora. But also "Blak" as a nod to our similar experiences with colonialism.

In terms of features? Yes Melanesians have a darker complexion and have a tighter curl pattern. Are we culturally Black in relation to the African Diaspora? No, Melanesians are considered Pacific Islanders and more related to other Pacific People culturally then anyone else.
