Some nature photos to help alleviate the ugliness of our world.

Good will prevail over the evil empire fucking with our lives.

6,500 ft yesterday. It has snowed, but melted off.

First place I ever hiked.

Labor Day 2020, I’m glad I got to go to Opal Creek one more time.

And more RIFS to come! It’s not a great time to be a federal employee. Or an American. Seriously, they are holding our country hostage from the people, grifting in plain sight.

Nobody worth a damn wants this Project 2025 shit. Why is this bullshit being crammed down our throats?

What draws you to a place, connects you like nothing else?

Water. Rivers and their tributaries.

Our public lands.

My dad was a WW2 vet. He passed about a decade ago. Great run. War was hard on him. He never stopped having nightmares. He would be absolutely pissed at what’s going on in our country.

Happy Veterans Day. Please take care of our Veterans.

FDT, and the trash he rode in with.

Magnet?

Don’t know about magnets, eh? Oh, I know. I know he never put his kids artwork on the fridge at home. Jerk.

When you spend a lot of time out in the woods, sometimes you get to see amazing critters. Wild animals that need to stay wild, so always keep your distance. Don’t chase after the bear with your cell phone.

Also, do not give up your pic-i-nic basket to anyone named Yogi Bear. Or the squirrels.

Pay attention to how a place makes you feel. These chairs take you back to a slower time. Just river watching, rocking gently, listening to the birds. A slight breeze through the trees. Smells like sage. Ha. Now you can’t smell. That’s the juniper and/grasses. For a moment, perfection.

Still the best piece of temporary art I’ve ever happened upon out in the woods.

Leave no trace principles guide us to do the right thing while recreating on our public lands.

Maybe I saw Bigfoot. Maybe it’s a burn scar.

Spent some time in the woods today. 5/5, highly recommend. I value our public lands.

Nature therapy

I have a tendency to go back to the same places over and over, at different times of the year. It feels necessary to check in. It feels a little like home.

Hope. Focus on what matters. Follow the light.

A picture I took several years ago on one of those spur of the moment camping trips to the coast with a friend.

It was early in the morning. There’s something really special about that time of day. Magic.

Have you hugged a tree lately?Thank you for giving us oxygen, providing habitat, and life support for so many species. Beauty, splendor, wonder.

Four months ago this guy joined our family. Couldn’t be happier with our decision to adopt again.
