A man of many parts ( and names).

Maker of things, stuff, and experiences; currently undergoing a literal renaissance.

I live in an old house in Boston with a big black cat, a little white cat, and a curvaceous redhead. How did I get here?

A little mid-March snowfall. Technically not spring yet…

Saw “Triumph of Love” at The Huntington. Enjoyed everything about it except the play… great acting, beautiful lighting, clever script—but the main character ruins a bunch of lives to get what she wants. Made me uncomfortable to think of her as a “hero”

We’re a day late because I was out last night celebrating Jim Infantino’s birthday, so @missminamurray.bsky.social made blini tonight. Happy Maslenitsa, all.

On the more pleasant side, I saw a quirky exhibit at the Center for Book Arts in NYC. It was a collection of “Blooks” — objects designed to look like books, but aren’t books. There were game boxes, a set of different wood samples from the Maine forestry service, and a kids’ spy set from the 1960s

This is going to get dark, but I’ll start with the lighter stuff, and you can bail out if you need to

Tomorrow (Feb 28) is Albert Day.

Albert brought out the best in everyone who met him. He was kind, and patient in a way which now (owning another cat) seems supernatural.

Story Prompt: you stop in at a diner in a small town. Just passing through. You sit down and discover that someone has left this pamphlet on the table. Maybe your phone is low on batteries, maybe you’re just that bored… but you pick it up to flip through it.

They are redoing the exterior of the apartment building my father lives in. The view though the narrow bathroom window reminds me of Escher or maybe some of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's stained glass windows.
