Conference organizers often pick star speakers to attract more visitors. But I want to encourage them to give a stage to those whose approaches and ideas haven’t (yet) found wide adoption in the mainstream. I believe this would be good for the industry.

That’s why, when I attend conferences, I prefer sessions by newcomers and hidden champions. In a discipline where framing problems is more important than knowing solutions, diversity matters more than experience.
