Great race in the Hong Kong Derby in prospect on Sunday, but I must say that I am pretty disappointed with the undercard, highlighted by an 8 runner C2. Last year there was an exciting C1 sprint. Oh well, back to Wan Chai after the Derby and watch the rest in the Stadium.

Lucky With You looks overs in race 8 at Sha Tin today. Currently 11/2 in the UK, 7.3 in HK, though I think he will shorten. Class 1 is right for him, very good win LTO in C1 but today will be a bit harder. EW @ 11/2 seems value to me.

Great race coming up at Sha Tin in the Classic Cup.

It's so difficult to be confident, but I'm siding with Noisy Boy. 1800m may be on the short side and draw not great, but has a great jockey who I always like on my side.

Currently 10/1 in the UK, which is fair value IMO.

The winner Johannes Brahms was so interesting for me. LTO in the Classic Mile, it's like he wasn't at the races, ran wide, joc dropped the whip, finished last. Today, great run and heavily backed just before the off, just got up.

Sha Tin - R7 C2 1200m on AW

I'm quite keen on Flying Ace in this race. He has the best speed ratings and can show a great TOF. Had one run on AW last season, and ran fast, just missing by a short head. Currently trading at around 14/1 in UK which is good value IMO. Nice EW bet.

Sitting here in the Wan Chai Stadium, studying form for Fridays Sha Tin races. Cora's gone shopping. Really good racing on Friday, initial fancies are Stunning Peach in R4 and Markwin in the Classic Mile. Ok one more Blue Girl if you insist.

Sha Tin R10 200m C2

I'm quite keen on outsider Noisy Boy in this race. Currently overs in the UK at about 25/1 (13/1 in HK). He has G2 form in AUS over the distance and his last run in HK was when he won a very fast C3 over 2200m.

Wings Of War wins the last at Sha Tin, carrying the famous Jim Joel colours of black jacket and scarlet cap. Made famous in yesteryear by the likes of Royal Palace winner of the Epsom Derby, ridden by Aussie George Moore, father of John Moore.

I'm pretty strong on Rubylot.

I need to do some stats on the Tips Index. Looks a useful tool.

My preference is for Red Lion from the John Size stable that has only recently been showing good form. He has a high draw to contend with but the jockey booking and the rise in body weight imply to me that this is his target.
