Putting a Mac mini, an Oyen U34 8b drive, and a 14.5”x4.6” touchscreen monitor on the wall over the basement stairs. Will be a home media server … calibre and invenio for books, roon for audio, and vlc, plex, jellyfin, etc. for video.

The 15 kilos box has been deboxed into 80 spice jars and 70 deli containers, all labeled and sealed. Shipping some to legal clinics and lawyers who represent me, the rest I’m bringing to some Watch Duty events, where I’m an advisor, so thought it was appropriate to bring some fire with me.

Pomegranates going to be plentiful this year! I grind the seeds, add chili, tamarind, beets (so it stays red), chilis, and sesame seeds to make a chutney.

Friend of mine needed a bluetooth mouse, so I rooted around in the bin and said "aha" and hauled out Logitech M510, which I later determined I had purchased July 20, 2011. This will do nicely, waste not, want not.

Curried Scarlet Runner beans. Beans from Rancho Gordo in Napa. Friend from Fiji brought Fiji special meat masala. Guanciali from Journeyman's, chicken stock from a friend up Fitch Mountain, mushrooms from Sebastopol, curry paste from Andhra Pradesh. 2 heads of garlic, one big onion. Wait 3 hours.

Beginning to hang and dry herbs. Starting with marjoram and sage. I have 4 of these racks, so it’s going to smell really great in there. Oregano and lavender up next.

Justice Gautam Patel, a beloved judge, recently retired. He escorted me in to meet the justices. He is talking to Dr. Uma Narayan, recently retired as the Librarian of the Supreme Court of India, who also attended the meeting.

February is when the really crazy good Andhra Pradesh red chilis are ready. The fresh ones have limited shelf life, but they pickle up like omg you wouldn't believe, and the pickles have a long shelf life. I just placed an order for 25kg of pickles. These are blow your head off hot, but very tasty.

Me standing in the Supreme Court of India library. That’s the preamble to the constitution behind me. They take the constitution seriously here. Amazing library. We might be working there. I’ll return in February to discuss with court officials.

Spending a few hours in one of Bangalore’s famous parks. You can sit and listen to the sounds of horns honking. Very peaceful.

As you enter the court you see a large picture of Gandhi with the iconic quote. I couldn’t help myself … turned to the court official, a Deputy Registrar, and said “you know, Gandhi never said that?” This is true … he didn’t. It was in a biography about him, he never said it.

Had a spectacular visit to the Supreme Court last week. Got VIP treatment through security, spent two hours with the Chief Librarian and a Deputy Registrar.
