A bunch of it is about emphasizing the cut vs the thrust. Thrusting the point is mechanically faster than cutting, but there are times when cutting is the better choice (like when you're on horseback).

Also a lot about how you're intending to fight with it (vs. armored or not, war or a duel)

Tandem CoS isn't that bad, esp since you've already run it and know the locations if the two parties get far afield from each other.
