I brought my preschooler to protests in lead up to Iraq war (Bush 2) but back then they saved the brutality for anti-globalization protests and for foreign prisoners.

At least a couple of them are also in it for an ideology that blends racial superiority and anti-democracy political fantasies (“I no longer believe that freedom and democracy are compatible.”-Thiel), a mutation of their libertarian roots.

And non-voters, except for those whose votes were prevented, tossed, or deterred by nonsense voter suppression techniques like: broken machines; ID laws; polling locations pushed miles out of town; voter caging lists; absentee ballots not provided; voters put in inactive status; and lying robocalls.

Sickening to hear this poor woman desperately yelling ‘my son is a citizen’ as a last resort. In a kinder country, the well-being of every human, especially a child, has inherent value, regardless of where they were born. God help us.

Not trained for ‘what’? Report was that paratroopers trained for arctic weather were on standby. For all we know, they might be tasked with capturing the governor and the mayor, or some midnight photo-op against a carefully chosen-for-TV target.
