We loved getting out to The Cherry Tree Wind Farm near Seymour over the weekend, on a tour organiser by Mitchell Community Energy.

Y2R was involved in the early days of this project, backing locals who wanted wind energy built in their region. It took many years and it was worth it.

Our NSW organiser Anna Mackiewicz joined renewables advocates for a tour of the Port Kembla Steelworks this week.

Bluescope is the biggest energy user in the region by far -- powering the steelworks w/ offshore wind represents a massive opportunity to cut pollution + secure manufacturing jobs.

Another day, another call for #LocalEnergyHubs to help regional communities access the benefits of renewable energy!

Time for a Local Energy Hub in Port Stephens @chrisbowenmp.bsky.social? We're proposing a network of fifty hubs around the country.

Other communities like Moruya on the South Coast have been trying to setup community energy projects for years but faced hurdle after hurdle.

There is almost zero support from the federal government for communities to build their own renewable energy projects.

What would help? A LOCAL ENERGY HUB.

Port Stephens has been dealing with a divisive debate about offshore wind and whether its good for the region or not.

Offshore wind will deliver many benefits including keeping the lights on, long term careers + more. Wherever you sit what does the community need right now?

There's a huge debate about how to build regional community support for Australia's massive shift to renewables in the face of lies and propaganda.

The answer is Local Energy Hubs.

Check out these letters to the editor from across the country about why Local Energy Hubs are needed NOW.

We've just wrapped up three days of strategy and reflection at the Commonground Coop on beautiful Taungurung Country in Central Vic.

With political attacks on wind and solar on the rise we're fired up to build the movement for renewable energy and community power!
