Fresh shave. The urge I have to just shave all my hair off is always there, but I want to grow it out for a year or so before I chop it off again.

Here is part one of a two part series in which I explore the strange experiences I've had that make me feel as if I've been abducted by aliens at some point in my life.

In 2006 my dog died, we think she got cancer, and I think her cancer fucked with out WiFi router. Sounds weird, but no other explanation will do. Meet Abby, my childhood dog. She was a good dog and I miss her a lot.

Here is a photo of my father from the apartment we lived in when I was a kid. He's wearing suspenders. He's not amused by the fact that he's peeling potatoes and someone is trying to take his photo. I love it.

Haven’t shaved my head since August and I feel kind of weird about my hair, because I need to condition it, too, cuz it’s thick, heavy hair. I have a feeling that I’ll cut it before long.

If you’ve never read Clarice Lispector, please do. Her work is brilliant, and effortless. She writes sentences that you want to read over and over again, the kind of writing meant to be savored slowly. Everything she wrote is just stunning.

I’m in the process of organizing the books in my office right now and it’s a bittersweet process. These boxes and totes represent 10 years of UFO research. I’ll miss it a little, but until we meet again…

This glorious creature is The Tote-Road Shagmaw. It’s a “fearsome critter” from lumberjack folklore, said to have the front paws of a bear, the back end of a moose and was the size of a horse. It was the weirdest looking satyr ever.
