Are there any papers you have in mind? I absolutely believe you, but the only study I remember off the top of my head is the Poskanzer and Yuste paper.

By behavior what do you mean? Poskanzer and others have looked at astrocytes during spontaneous running behavior, so maybe we have something different in mind. There's also several papers looking at astroglia being part of a "giving up" circuit in Zebrafish, along with Bergles' paper on ketamine.

Chris Dulla has done a lot of work drilling down into astrocyte voltage fluctuations and how they can be one method of modulating glutamate uptake. GLT-1 is responsible for most glutamate clearance in the brain, overwhelmingly in astrocytes, and electrogenic.

The morning star is clearly not the evening star. This contingent fact can obviously be known a priori. Just look at the names!

Awesome! I only use 7x atm. What's the benefit of rendering in Chaotica?

I have a massive hoard of eBooks I know I'll never read. At some point I realized I prefer collecting opportunities, not actions. It's fun either way :)

That's so cool! Why do so many of those traveling waves start in the center and propagate in random directions? What's the theory/mechanism?

Is there an inverse program that requires excellent neuroscience but no AI? :)

Are there suggestions you'd give for busy grad students that they might not realize are options? I know you mentioned social media, but I've found lucky chats with accounts who have a platform work far better than trying to build my own account. Finding them is the hardest part though.

Xenosaga's glossary was wild. I remember as a teen reading through it and learning about visual area V4, motion blindness, complex time, the EPR paradox, and a lot more. The game itself didn't use these ideas correctly at all, but the glossary was good 😅

Ironically, this is the post that convinced me to follow

Don't want to make you talk about it too much if you're not keen on it, but what kind of work does a computational social neuroscientist do?

Happy to see another Apophysis user!
