Wy’s always been in search of a parental figure and maybe he’s too trusting, but he lets her complete the ritual and thus unwittingly bounds himself to her service. She orders him to use his connections to yh to kill yh’s brother, the mer-king. If he fails, he’ll be back to an urchin forever.

He starts getting weird dreams with a voice calling to him, nightmares where Yh leaves him to drown in the middle of the ocean, haunting visions of Yh coming to harm.
