The billionaires hate Wikipedia because they can't control it or buy it. Most of the rest of the information space is under their control already.

I don’t want to play down the dangers of either, but to me it seems that a lot of the most serious problems with SM stem from algorithmic distortion rather than the inherent nature of interaction. It’s one reason I use this site (despite its problems & the exhausting joke non-getters, scolds, etc).
