The rate of civilian harm in Israeli strikes remains unprecedented.
In Trump's bombing campaign earlier this year the average was 2.07 civilian casualties per strike. In seven years of Saudi-led air raids the rate was 0.76.
In September, the average surged to over 32 civilian casualties per strike.

Average rate of civilian harm in Israeli strikes remains unprecedented in 10+yrs of data collection. August average was over 23 civilian casualties per strike.

We recorded 102 civilian casualties in two strikes on 24 Aug: a strike on a YPC fuel station creating a massive fire ball and a further strike on Hizyaz power station. The two incidents killed 10 civilians, injured 92. Israel has bombed Hizyaz power station six times in 9 months.

The month was marked by the first reported targeted assassinations by Israel in Yemen. Israel assassinated the Sana’a-based PM, 11 ministers and cabinet officials in a 28 Aug. strike, deploying up to 10 munitions on the gathering of political figures.

The outlier remains Israel. In 32 Israeli strikes in Yemen since July the average rate of civilian harm is >9 casualties per air raid. 12 Israeli strikes in May focused on civilian infrastructure resulting in 75 civilian casualties + destruction of all civilian passenger jets operating from Sanaa.

The average rate of civilian harm in US strikes was on par with the Saudi-led bombing of Yemen 10 years ago. The average rate of civilian casualties in the first 53 days of Saudi's air was was 2.8 per strike. The average rate in US strikes was similarly just over 2 civilian casualties per strike.

A strike on Farwah market in the capital on 20 April killed at least 12 civilians, including 2 children and injured a further 30 civilians, bringing the total number of civilian casualties to 500 since president Trump launched a new U.S. bombing campaign in Yemen on 15 March.

230 civilian casualties were recorded in the Ras Isa bombing on 18 April with at least 80 civilians killed and 150 injured. In a decade of monitoring by
@yemendataproject.org only three air raids have caused more civilian harm, all of which were during the seven-year-long Saudi-led air war.
