“Let the trigger surprise you”

Something that for years many shooters were instructed is to let the trigger surprise you. I.e. to press through the wall and the break and not think about when the gun is going to go off, so that it surprises you.

Couple of the YPT lads vibing out on a recent Friday night with some cigars, dry fire, and kimchi. When you’re not shooting, what else do yall do for fun? Anyone got any good shit going on this weekend?

Nice run from one of our contributors on classifier CM 23-02, This Could Be the Greatest Night of Our Lives. A-class run on this one, 11A 1C, 6.55 seconds, HF 8.8550. We know some of yall have shot this one as well! If you have, drop how you’ve done in the comments!

In his Discworld series, Terry Pratchett’s character Sam Vimes put forth a “theory of socioeconomic unfairness,” usually just known as the Vimes Boots Theory.

One of our contributors shooting a couple of the new 25 series classifiers. These are pretty cool and incorporate more modern shooting techniques like shooting on the move and freestyle shooting.

Equipment from night vision fundraiser acquired!

Recently, with the help of our comrades at @yellowperiltac.bsky.social , we set a goal of $3000 to aquire more night vision and thermal optics for the AlF.

1. You have increased your signature by introducing lasers that may be visible to observers with night vision. I’m not the most concerned about this.

2. You have added 7ish ounces out there on the rail. Basically, your Faxon pencil barrel is cancelled out.

This solution allows you to maintain your entire field of view (even if it’s just a 50º cone of your PVS-14 single tube). This does affect 3 things:
August 22, 2025 at 1:06 AM
You’ll hear people refer to that as “active aiming.”

The laser mounts to your carbine's rail and projects a laser beam when you activate it. It’s like being a bad guy with an MP5 in a 90’s action movie.

In an earlier post, we and hevalti.fun.club (IG) talked about using a high optic mount to aim under night vision. Although the high mount makes NODs usable, it’s not ideal versus using the same optic in the day. The solution is using a laser to aim.

We finished our fundraiser for Liberate Myanmar liberate_myanmar (IG) and Karenni Nationalities Defence Forces Tactical Operations Command 7! Thanks so much to everyone who grabbed a Phoward patch. Together, we raised $2,738 dollars for Liberate Myanmar.

Aiming under NODSs with hevalti.fun.club (IG)

Congrats! You saved up and bought a PVS-14! You threw down even more for a helmet, J-arm, and mounting interface. When your homie’s uncle finally lets you visit and magdump into trash a few weekends later, you run into a problem: aiming isn’t the same.

One of our contributors decided to try out the Baer Solutions monthly drill challenge.

Much harder than it looks. Running in a dead sprint from 25 yards, then between the 10 and 5 yard mark, you must engage both the open target and headbox of the partial no shoot target, all on the move.
August 11, 2025 at 10:16 PM
If you got one of our Phoward patches recently, we sent out a shitload and people are starting to get em

An interesting firearm here from whereiskev (IG username) and the crew at KNDF TOC 7.

When was the last time you saw an Uzi? This one here is either an Israeli Uzi, or it’s a locally-produced BA94 Uzi copy, produced under license by the Tatmadaw (Maynmar’s military).

We asked some good shooters how they mentally recover when shooting a bad stage. Master-class USPSA Carry Optics shooter Nick O’Connell IG greasy_dolphin_shooting was kind enough to share his process. This definitely applies to anyone feeling setbacks, bad day at practice, etc.

Your support is super helpful as TOC 7 is active in Karenni State and Shan State near Mo Bye. The junta recently recaptured Mo Bye and heavy fighting there continues.

A special thanks to these lads including whereiskev on IG from Karenni Nationalities Defense Forces Tactical Operations Command 7 for sending us these pics. All of the revenue from this round of Phoward patches are going to them.
August 6, 2025 at 1:04 AM
One of our contributors spent a SIGNIFICANT amount of time this weekend addressing dozens and dozens of envelopes… but the fundraiser for LM (liberate_myanmar on IG) continues! Still have Phoward patches left! And far fewer than when we started 👀

The V drill

Like designated target, this drill required the shooter to “bounce” back to a primary target between shooting others on either side. Varying the distance or target presentation forces different confirmation levels for the shooter.
August 4, 2025 at 9:23 PM
How about instead of fuckin around with paper towels you just practice with your ACTUAL DOT?? On your draw, what are you doing looking at your front sight post?? Look at THE TARGET aka the thing you are trying to fucking shoot.
