Ok. Since we are going there, doesn't it seem like there has been some kind of tacit agreement that China gets a free hand in Asia, Russia gets to pressure Europe, and the US focus is on our hemisphere?

Reminds me of the pandemic dilemma. If society/government succeeds, there will be many living, breathing malcontents complaining about restricted freedoms and school closures who might otherwise be dead.

Well, I guess you could say I'm criticizing, but I really just wanted to offer caution. Allies to causes are important, integral even. Just as boundaries are.

Boundaries or not is not up for discussion here. It's where you set them that is. You may find a lot of allies are on the outside with this set in place.

Holiday travel, loss of SNAP, seemed to be an eventual lose/lose. What if you get a SNAP commitment for '26, get through the holidays and tee up a redux shutdown on ACA February 1?

Before the shutdown there was a lot of discussion about allowing red states (and yes, I know there will be blue state harm as well) to "get what they voted for" regarding health costs.

I'm talking on a national political level.Throwing trans people under the bus is in the Republican party platform. Your purity tests imperil trans people. Just look at the money spent on ads against Harris. Fight these battles locally, not nationally.

But some people will not vote for a Democrat because they are not ideologically pure on trans issues. Meanwhile trans people are imperiled.
