A couple of hours were spent locally today. Goosander is a new local one for me and a Pochard. Also, a controversial lifer, for me, being a Ring Necked Parakeet.

Cracking day at Snettisham today, starting with a Leucistic Oyster Catcher, then a very obliging Red Necked Phalarope. Teamed up with @mattdenial.bsky.social to find the Greater Short-toed Lark. Then nipped to see the Lesser Yellow Leg.

Had the absolute pleasure of watching @alanball101.bsky.social ringing some of the local birds at the weekend. They are a lot smaller close up.

Not been mothing for a couple of weeks. Sat in my garden today and spotted 2 new species for the garden. An orange Swift and an Old Lady. Definitely putting the trap out tonight.

Having seen the Pectorial Sandpiper at #rspbsnettisham last week at a distance. One popped up at #rspbfrieston, so I made my way over. Meeting @mattdenial.bsky.social on the way and we got fantastic views and perfect light and I managed this photo.

Very quiet at the minute in the trap. A couple of new visitors this time. A Garden Rose Tortrix and a Flame Carpet. That's the 3rd of each of these species.

Managed a cracking photo of a Wood Sandpiper at @rspbframptonmarsh.bsky.social. We need more rain as water levels are very low. But still plenty to look out for.

Had an amazing time moth trapping at #Gibraltarpoint yesterday morning. Privet Hawk, and Buff Tip being my favourite. Thank you @lincswildlife.bsky.social the breakfast was amazing. Keep an eye out for the next event.
Then between the rain, managed to see my first Grasshopper Warbler.
