Adding on to the Dutch angles, I think that the use of breaking the fourth wall was effective in creating tension between the viewer and the characters. Characters directly address the camera in a montage of racial slurs, confronting the audience with raw, unfiltered prejudice.

This is a conversation on how ads (when done well) can change perceptions and, in turn, change the culture and social norms we live with today. Tobacco companies portray smoking as "feminizing" and beautiful while also saying that it is a symbol of freedom. These ads painted cigs in a positive light

This is very compelling to an audience that grew up on social media. Young girls, especially, try to live up to these picture-perfect posts on Instagram, creating unhealthy mindsets and an overall negative impact on their mental health. Dove trying to bring more attention to this phenomenon is good.

People need to recognize that social media is free and so addicting because YOU are the product-- you and your time. Your information, preferences, and data will usually be collected and sold to other companies to perpetuate a consumerism society.

This is especially prevalent in the age of technology, where most teenagers are absorbed to the internet. Terms like "bedrotting" and "doomscrolling" has described these actions with a sense of dread.
