I worked at a video store in my home town and we would leave tags on the shelves in front of "staff picks". I once destroyed the trust of the sweet mail carrier who watched all my recs because she borrowed Grave of the Fireflies without looking into it at all, just saw it had my name on it 😬

Also one of the first things I was told in my undergrad (before AI really took off) was that profs don't have time to teach you how to write essays- if you're in university you should know by now. They did push writing tutors
& the student success centre on us, but made it clear they could not help
