Look at your most recent videos from the last 2 months and all of the ones with the games logo there have the most views, it really is tiny stupid stuff like that which makes a difference.

You’re not wrong that you haven’t changed a lot with how you present your videos, but there are still small things that can have a big impact. I looked at videos from the last 2 years and noticed that having the games logo in the thumbnail was an indicator for more views on a video.

Even something as simple as some text in the thumbnail will give people something to latch onto, more than simply the (lovely) thumbnail art does on its own.

One thing I notice with your recent videos is they are presented in a somewhat samey way. You had two videos titled “a normal blank video” in a row for example. I’m not saying you need to go full clickbait, but broadening those titles and thumbnails would do a lot, from a viewers perspective.

How about you explain to them how you wrote a CSA survivor being raped and groveling before her abuser and thank him for it. Explain in detail why you thought that was a cool direction for Magik as a character. Explain why you think sexual assault as a reason for a character turning evil is awesome.

14 has failed at feeling satisfying in this regard countless times. Are we expected to believe that Zenos could flip Nidhogg over on one hand like he’s nothing, for example. They tried new ways of raising the stakes with the infections in SHB and EW but both varied in their actual effectiveness.

I agree, seeing Zoral with his blade in the chest of a dude who matched the wol in combat would be a striking moment that levels up Zoral Ja in the players mind. Whether they do the flashback or not that moment would have a great narrative sting.

At that point it’s getting into nitpick territory.

Those sequences don’t have hostages at gunpoint. The Final Days battles had civilians dropping left and right despite the powerhouse the wol is at that point. Bring them to a blade-to-neck scenario and their power means nothing, it’s happened plenty of times before.

It’s framed like shit but it would feel way worse if he put us on our ass in a Zenos sequence or something like that.

The whole “let me fight him one on one” trope is pretty terrible I agree, but at that point the same factor applies where Zoral Ja can come back to life as many times as he likes since they don’t know the secret of his immortality at that point.

That applies in the second encounter while we are surrounded by a small army of robot soldiers with hostages. I don’t deny that the wol could’ve done all that, but they definitely wouldn’t have in that scenario.

And even then we encounter Zoral Ja like twice leading up to his final confrontation, both times he is literally immortal and nothing the wol could have done would put him down for good.

Does this not apply to every narrative villain the game has had? Discounting Stormblood Zenos and maybe Emet Selch the complaint that we should be chopping heads off the moment villains walk in has been a complaint since Heavensward. It’s a drawback of the sort of story ffxiv is.
