Me and an uncle used to walk around Highland Lake in Winsted CT every Thanksgiving (around 7 mi).
We'd each bring a bottle of wine, it took us around 3 hours, and when we got back, the leftovers were always ready.
The best walks were the cold ones, even better if it was snowing.
