In a murder trial, whether the victim was armed holds no relevance as to evidence of mens rea - - part of the standard for premeditated murder. Self defense is a separate stndrd. If the victim was armed and brandishing the wpn this could be evidentiary with regards to a theory of slf defns. #MN #NAF
