Met a hungry heron while kayaking (before, during and) after a rain storm. Hopefully, the bird is as happy with his catch as I am with mine.

Finally had a night without cloud cover. Thankfully I was in the mostly darker sky area of Middletown Springs VT and used the iPhone to catch a few pics. There’s more movement than I hoped for but it’s better than nothing to remember the night by.

What makes a wren house more or less attractive to the birds? I have 4 similar bird houses in various trees around the house. The most popular is the oldest, one I have had to repair with twine and even a bungee cord. It’s in the front of the house, the only one not in a tree.
