Census records for Indigenous peoples are fascinating. My great-grandmother was recorded as neither speaking nor writing English & Diné (Navajo) wasn’t adopted for reading or writing. They didn’t recognize her speaking an Indigenous language. Also, she lived in a log house (hogan) with dirt floors 🪶

I spent entire week with my 5-year-old niece and received no less than 18 compliments/praise about being such a good father/caregiver for being so engaging with her. So the US government wanted to keep users from giving their data to China so they banned TikTok which had US-based servers and data centers, so to protest those users are now giving their data to an actual Chinese company, REDNote. Amazing.
