It's hard to believe no one can check this behavior. We saw it bloom during COVID when it seemed he was withholding support for blue states and cities. Now it's every segment of federal spending. NCAR is the exact same. Ending wind and solar projects. Colleges. Everything.

Even just day-to-day forecasting of snow, rain, severe weather is crazy improved. When I left earlier this year models like global MPAS were predicting tornado outbreaks in red stats like Texas with high accuracy. This feeds into air quality forecasting as well like wildfire smoke, PM and ozone.

Just a simple clear example is hurricane forecasting. Models have improved significantly over the last 30 years where we're looking at systems 10+ days out now and models are regularly nailing forecasts. This gives communities a huge lead time in prep.

This center is the heart of weather forecast modeling. I see the word climate being pushed around with these articles. That's one component, but NCAR is responsible for the core science that has pushed weather forecasting forward for decades

Every day they would post these stories making it look like a crime wave where white women in particular were being hunted by black men. Even as crime has fallen in most areas. No one looks at the dates of stories so white people get freaked when they think 7 white women were raped in the last week.

Recall 10 years ago it was apparent in my mind this was the landing spot for the republican party. Saw so many on Facebook starting to use the language and tactics one would see in secret white supremacist groups for recruitment. The clearest was old crime news stories of black men cast as current.
