To quote of Montreal:
"The last ten days have been a motherfucker"

I didn't forget you, Bluesky. Just had a lot going on.

Check out what I got off work to find today:

I was able to keep just about everything alive after the nasty greenhouse spill. Some are definitely doing better than others, but overall we are staying strong! We're going to start moving some of them in-ground after I till this week.

Actually, fuck that greenhouse

(1/3) It needs repeating: in 1994, Ukraine was persuaded to give up its nuclear weapons to Russia in return for the US, the UK, and Russia guaranteeing Ukraine’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

This is the first time I've ever seen a rosemary flower. I was the opposite of a green thumb for my entire life, and now I'm seeing flowers I didn't even know existed. This was such a cool hobby to get into. ❤️❤️

No idea how well this little mini greenhouse is going to work, but we're going to find out!!

Have you ever taken a tea bath only for the herbs to escape their containment while you have your hair (which is longer than it has ever been) submerged in the water, and now you have wet rose petal and basil in your hair that is 100% going to hurt to brush out?
Lol yeah me neither.

We want to send a message to the world: what has happened today is an absolute disgrace. It is completely un-American.

Something about these songs appearing back to back on my playlist is funny.

Yesterday's new moon tea was better than I expected.

Rooibos (lots)
Rose petal (lots)
Rosemary
Basil (pinch)
Fennel seed (pinch)
Elderberry

Kind of a seemingly random assortment of things, but these flavors played very nicely with each other in the amounts I used them in.

My calendula babies are coming along nicely!

I tried making a comfrey salve last week, but I didn't quite get the wax to oil ratio correct. Today I made more comfrey root oil and emulsified it with the wax-heavy trial run, and I think I finally got the consistency to where I need it.

My calendula sprouted!

I have never been someone with a green thumb, but I'm really trying this year. It only makes sense that I try to avoid the 40 minute drive to the bulk herb store wherever possible. 😝

Kept today's tea simple. The raspberry leaf wasn't super flavorful on its own, so I added a splash of rose water. There are definitely folks who would find rose water in their tea to be overwhelming- can't relate though. I could live in it.

Burn Stuff:
Calendula
Echinacia
Slippery Elm
Elderflower

Crush and pour hot water over. Let it thicken. Chill in freezer. End result is slimy like aloe and works beautifully. Had to run cold water over the burn while I waited for it though so maybe freeze and have it ready to go when you need it 😝

I adore all of the fun blends I've been coming up with (well... a lot of them, anyway), but there's something to be said about a plain ol' cup of Darjeeling.

Today was a cramps day until it wasn't.

Red clover
Catnip
Rooibos
Turmeric
Ginger
Cinnamon

Taste was pretty great, honestly.

I'm still very new at all of this. There is definitely some trial and error going on. Today I learned that mugwort and rooibos tea do NOT get along flavor-wise. I love rooibos, and I've had other teas with mugwort that worked, but those two are not friends.

Protecting my body, mind, and peace with today's tea.

Nettle
Slippery Elm (sparing)
Hyssop

This one has a lot going on. Hyssop is bad for kids and people who are prone to seizures. I'd avoid nettle (and hyssop, for that matter) if I were pregnant. For me, it's great. Nettle is stinky, though.

In a desperate attempt to change the subject, idk about y'all, but I needed something to smile about today.

-Something to Smile About-
In tea strainer:
Calendula
Lemongrass
Turmeric (only a little!)

Hot water, steep for 4-5 minutes
Splash of rose water

Give this moment to yourself. It's needed.
