I thought I'd talk a little more about why I chose to do this project.

Aren't all gas companies evil? Well, yeah. Some are more evil than others, though. We need to punish the worst offenders and show that there are actual consequences for participating in global exploitation and enabling genocide and climate catastrophe. When you join the global boycott campaign against Chevron, you are acting in solidarity with Indigenous people all over the world who have been protesting the company for years. We won't end our reliance on fossil fuel by putting one single company out of business, but any damage done to Chevron's reputation hurts their ability to lobby politicians, and it removes the profit incentive from engaging in genocide and other human rights abuses. It contributes to the global isolation of Israel. What's the goal of this project? I wanted to raise awareness of the #BoycottChevron campaign, and also raise the ceiling of what had previously been done artistically to promote the boycott campaign. My hope is that these drawings will inspire other artists and activists and add fresh energy to the campaign. All of the #BoycottChevron images that I have created are free for the movement to use. Please remix and use as far and wide as you can, no credit needed! Why draw the logo over and over? I want people to feel revulsion when they see the Chevron logo. I want you to loathe and detest the sight of it. I want all of these terrible images to pop into your head that represent the actual reality of what this company does. I want this imagery to linger in people's minds even when I'm no longer posting a new drawing to serve as a reminder every day. What can I do to help the campaign beyond signing the pledge and personally boycotting? The most meaningful thing you can do is get involved with local activist campaigns against Chevron/Texaco/Caltex! See if there are any currently active groups taking action in your area. If there are not any, consider starting one! It doesn't take many people to organize an action. See uscpr.org/campaigns/boycott-chevron for ideas.
