I subscribed to WaPo the day they added “Democracy Dies in Darkness” as their slogan. Today I unsubscribed for 100 reasons from refusing to endorse a presidential candidate to repeatedly giving in to 47s tyrannical demands. If they want to help destroy our democracy, they can do it without my money.

Today in US History: On Feb. 3, 1870, the 15th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified, granted black men the right to vote. It was passed by Congress on February 26, 1869. Black Americans were set free by the 13th amendment. The 14th Amendment guaranteed citizenship.

A big side effect of 2025 is spending much more time on art and my kindle than social media. I’m not sticking my head in the sand, but we’re only 1 week in and this is going to be an endurance run, not a race. Almost finished with large shawl no. 2 and just starting book number 5.
