Talk to text is killing me.

(Not to mention the inconvenience of the Thomas Street Bridge being closed and dead dinosaurs forcing me to walk my bike through the sculpture park.)

5:48pm 7/28/2025: taxi in Alaskan PBL in front of Anthony’s Pier 66. @seattle.carinbikelane.com

One minute tour of the Alaskan Way protected bike infrastructure! My spouse took me home Thursday in the box bike (so cramped!) and I took the opportunity to document the trip. Can’t wait to redo this from Myrtle Edwards to the West Seattle Bridge and beyond! 😍

10:50am: Sysco truck parked in the new Alaskan Way PBL just south of Broad & the Sculpture Park. Cars wait here all the time too. 😒 @seattle.carinbikelane.com

Elliott Bay Connections Project is taking away this quality functional pedestrian connection to the waterfront (Thomas Street Bridge) for SEVEN weeks in the middle of the summer. Who asked for this? Thanks billionaires. 😒

Proud of my South Park neighbors for showing up to support our community! About 150 of us stood on the bridge to declare YES TO IMMIGRANTS and #nokings. (Lots of happy honks far outnumbering the few d*ckheads.) Meanwhile 70k marched downtown 🤩

Can anyone explain to me why this last block of the northern end of the Duwamish Trail/West Marginal PBL isn’t also protected bike lane? What, they get like three parking spots? Move the damn (illegal?) ecoblocks three more feet and slap on some paint, amiright?

N+1! We biked back to South Park with a kid on a new 19” Jamis Sequel (yay bike sale!). I am dying to load it up with rad accessories (so many eyelets!) but she just started with the cute pdx bottle cage.

We rode the Georgetown to South Park trail AND the Georgetown to Downtown trail today: they were revelatory and felt perfectly safe with the 11yo! Our destination was Mello Fellos bike shop to see if she was ready for a bigger bike.

… which fails to mention the role of the freight corridor, wsdot, or king county in mediating speeds SOUTH of these crash sights. It also fails to suggest any actual road redesign. I love pedestrian leading intervals, but they do nothing to force someone going 60 off an offramp to stop in time.

My neighbor Robin finally got a reply from SDOT regarding their plan for improving 14th Ave S, where two neighbors have been killed by cars in six months. Email in images from Bill LaBorde.

Yes, vigil tonight. (I am laid up and can’t make it but hope there’s a good turn out.)

More insights about the dangers of 14th Ave S and S Henderson St from my neighbors.

Another pedestrian has been killed at 14th & Henderson in South Park this morning. The last death there was just five months ago. @seattledot.bsky.social needs to work with @wsdot.wa.gov to slow people coming over 99 onto 14th NOW.

We have catnapped a stray fur beast and made her ours! Her name is Pistachio and glass now separates her from the songbirds. I am looking for recommendations for *actually sustainable* wet cat food: not “organic human grade ingredients” but ways to feed a carnivore lower on the food chain.

Today’s Hands Off protest at Seattle Center was amazing. I ❤️ Seattle

Granite slabs are cool - and all over Seattle. Thank your friendly neighborhood Landscape Architect. 👀

My fifth grader wrote an essay in Spanish about how NASA should fund more research for comets and asteroids by more kinds of people, like BIPOC and non-binary scientists, who could have new helpful ideas. Can’t be prouder of her public school education right now.

Oh. The answer is paint (and parking)! Blanchard is where the crossing for cruise times will happen, I guess (still, better with no bulb out). Lenora just looks like they just didn’t want to pay to rip it out.
January 30, 2025 at 6:40 AM
Thanks! Everything looks pretty ok except at Lenora and Blanchard where we are supposed to hop the curb I guess?! It’s baffling. At Blanchard they’re repouring a lot of it and could have completely redone it.

Coincidentally I had even taken a photo of my own this weekend because of its laughably bad bioretention- check out the absurd downspouts! I doubt this has passed inspection. This is not a ZONING fail, it’s a BUILDER fail.

Thanks to Apple Photos for featuring my most precious memories. I will never forget you, green irrigation box sticking out too high in Redmond. 💕 #landscapearchitecture #memories

@nondriver.bsky.social thanks for sharing this Atlantic piece! Agree with you 💯 - food deserts are affecting urban and rural nondrivers alike (right here in South Park). Just a thought, though: what if Robert Pattinson promoted Robinson-Patman?

My #southparkseattle neighbors continue to express their grief and outrage after a local mom was killed when a car turned into her while crossing the street at 14th & Henderson around 5:40 last night. @sngreenways.bsky.social will you be organizing a memorial?
