I think Control hits the mark as a true 3D metroidvania. There are tons of 3D games with unlockable traversal unlocks like Returnal or maybe the Batman Arkham games but I wouldn’t consider them metroidvanias since they aren’t integral to the gameplay.

I grew up around real coyotes as a kid and found myself very similar to them in a bunch of ways - many different noises/vocalizations, adaptable in many environments, generally omnivorous, pointy and bushy tailed!
