In the Bay, 22 of 30 Assemblymembers voted Yes.

In SoCal, only 17 of 44 voted Yes.

Dems like LA Mayor Karen Bass fought SB 79 while young champions like Asm Sade Elhawary looked to the future.

A note for advocates: Despite the frequency of transit funding crises, they are not inevitable or “natural.” Starving transit is a political choice, and we must name and shame the elected officials who are allowing it to happen.

I would be interested to see if LA Metro would do an actual study on this. It’s a cool concept!

It’s a bit dated using a map from a bit ago and it briefly covers the history of LA transit but lacks the nuance about what we’re doing to fix it. Also misses key land use issues.
