bad news is that I wasn’t babysitting my gleba setup enough and now I have to blackstart it again at some point 😩. I think I didn’t account for the fact that the seeds could back up onto a belt and clog the outputs, since the belts are so long and this takes so long to observe

Not to knock the book, it’s just a different level of detail and a different delivery format with I think a rather different goal than a movie. The amount of research that went into this book is impressive, and no detail was spared anywhere sheesh.

In 2024, Edmonton overhauled its zoning bylaw. It consolidated several restrictive zones into the new RS zone, permitting up to 8 homes per lot subject to 75 square metres lot area per unit.

In 2025, we're seeing the payoff. The rise of the 5-8 unit rowhome is truly remarkable.

However, this success is under threat. In February, City Council is expected to consider once again lowering the hard cap on units to 6.

The data is clear: 8-unit projects drove most of the zoning reform's success. Banning them would intentionally stall Edmonton’s momentum.

- TSP worked 2/3 times to give trains an advance green before left turns or shortened a left turn phase immediately to give a transit phase at jane and finch

-slow line speeds in between stops still a problem

this feels noticeably better. more improvements coming early next year!

Maybe there should be a requirement that you can actually /use/ the pedals. Or a stricter weight requirement? 120kg is very generous. On the far right there is a yellow bike that I would consider to be an acceptable “e-bike” and I doubt it weighs more than even 60kg.

I do think Ontario’s definition of an e-bike could use an update. Here is my bike sandwiched in between two “e-bikes,” which are allowed to use protected bike lanes because they technically have pedals (circled in red)?? These are basically mopeds/scooters.

I couldn’t find any articles that mentioned this but here are numbers from the zoning amendment submission: 8% studio, 63% 1bd, 18% 2bd, 11% 3bd
