Auza city, the futuristic city build and ruled by an evil tech bro from Ninja Kamui. Probably the background I spent the most time painting on the production. 3D model by Johanna Guillaume.

I was also in charge of the art direction of the ending of Ninja Kamui.
Being on a tight schedule I had to quickly come up with a style fitting the mood of the song and not too hard to paint. It's a different style from what I'm used to do, but I'm pretty happy with the result!

The "shitenno room" is a reference to the "Buddhist Four Heavenly Kings" or "group of 4 legendary warriors" that has become a common trope in japanese fiction. Might give you some hints about Higan's next opponents...

Some backgrounds from Ninja Kamui ep 1. The intention on this show was to create something very cinematic, using color palettes that are closer to modern live action movies, with 2 dominant colors and colored lights, and denser skin tones than usual.
