It’s one of the fastest ways for me to put down a book or stop watching something. Because now I’m mad like I’m the character being blamed for everything 😭

An otherwise well written story, but that just niggles at me throughout the whole novel, and it doesn’t truly resolve itself by the end. You hope he accepts his part beyond being stoic, and he kinda does but it feels hollow in comparison to what was expected of Yas.

….except he didn’t even want to go to therapy with his depressed and grieving wife. In the end, she’s begging for a second chance I actually don’t think he deserves because he’s unwilling to acknowledge that he left her before she left him.

Yas bears the brunt of responsibility in the novel for the dissolving of her family and it’s honestly deplorable to me. Josiah gets to skirt off easier because he “held it together” in comparison to her falling apart, so of course he doesn’t hold any blame in her wanting a divorce…

They’re amazing character foils to each other and I think that’s what makes their friendship in book 3 so precious.

Cause I don’t know much about algebra, but I know 1+1 does not equal 3.
