Sometimes the things I say in counseling are useful. Today I said, one way to remind ourselves about how little control we have over how people feel about us is to remind ourselves of all the ridiculous reasons that toddlers cry. And then to remember that adults aren’t all that much different.

I’m not really sure if something in me is broken or got better but I have very little patience for people’s bs these days. I kinda want to have my people, ideally in person, and be off social media for the most part. So if I’m quiet that’s why. And also I’m just busy.

Well if the coldest it gets here is in the mid 50s I can handle that. So far that’s what it has been. Some days on the motorbike have been rough but I got a good windbreaker, some base layers and gloves so hopefully that will be enough.

I think we’re in the midst of the culture war and it’s between caring about individuals versus what people justify as self preservation. As a therapist I see it everywhere. It’s been going on for a long time but accelerating at the moment because narcissists thrive in hypercapitalist cultures.

It isn’t delusional to want the world to be different and to take action to make a small piece of it what you want it to be.

I’m noticing many Spanish people are very nice. I just went to the nicest post office ever. They even apologized for not knowing English well.
