It probably helped that those of us who know the password were unanimous. 😉 We should have given up on it sooner—I personally did a while ago—but we had a community who were hanging in there due to inertia or sunk cost, or both. Maybe our pulling the plug will convince them to do the same.

The powers that be at mine agreed today we will stop using it. I can’t take too much credit—I think recent events got them there on their own. I did put together a very reasoned argument with links and bullet points tho.

Made it through Christmas and New Year without my ❤️ dog Aki (Akira). We said final goodbyes to him in November due to an aggressive brain tumor. I honestly didn’t know how I would cope with the holidays, but I’m still here loving on our other dog and occasionally finding joy in reminders of him.

Exactly. I don’t understand why so much hate is directed at Clooney, in particular, for protecting his family. www.theguardian.com/film/2026/ja...
‘Suspension of entry into the US’, paparazzi – and wine: three other reasons George Clooney moved to France
A UK government warning that Amal Clooney risks US sanctions over her role in the issuing of an arrest warrant for the Israeli prime minister is key among reasons why the couple have moved to France

I have such a soft spot for Blue. 🥰

We can buy this locally in one of the fancy (read: expensive 😂) grocery stores. It has more of a “bite” than conventional spaghetti, but it tastes really good and holds up well to more flavorful preparations (I like to make spicy crab pasta with it, but it’s also great with bolognese).

Gluten free pasta is good! We found this when our friend who we used to do dinners with was diagnosed. She moved away, but I still buy the spaghetti: www.maninis.com

Thank you. ❤️ We didn’t deserve him, but I would give anything to still have him here with us.

Great choice. My husband loves it—got a 1.75 liter bottle last time. It’s like a magnum of bourbon. 🥃

And now you can never move! 😉🐾

Oh, I’m so happy for you both! Get some rest. Thank you for sharing Apollo (and the entire gang) with us. 🥰

These are amazing! After our heat dome several years ago, I bought one for Aki and it really does feel cool. Washes well, too. When Astrid was a puppy, she treated her brother’s blanket like a pee pad. 😂 We waited to put one out again until she was fully house trained.

Aki’s younger sister Astrid is definitely trying to corrupt him. He can move but he can’t roughhouse while he recovers from what they suspect is a slipped disc. So of course I catch him chasing her around the yard…and then she tried to climb on his back and take him down like an elk or something 🙄😂

Oof! As someone who just dropped 2K (and change) for diagnostics, I feel your pain. If the nodule on my Akira’s spleen changes by his follow-up ultrasound in a few months, I can’t imagine the cost of the splenectomy. 🫣 Hope Apollo gets to keep his toe. That boy doesn’t seem the kennel rest type 😉

This article is why I started following you at the other place. It’s one of my favorite pieces of scicomm. 🦁 (WHY ISN'T THERE A FEMALE LION EMOJI, TIM APPLE, WHY?!)

All these double-digit egg prices are wild. I live near Seattle, and our local Trader Joe’s pasture-raised eggs are $4.99/dozen—same price as before. They charge $3.99 for regular cage-free eggs. (Limited to one dozen per visit.) HOW is anyone charging $18?!?!

Appliances. We bought our new fridge there. Delivery, set-up, removal of old fridge was seamless. I will never buy appliances anywhere else. Pricing is great, too. Also OTC meds. Their brand ibuprofen, allergy meds, vitamins, etc. Membership pays for itself.
