To each his own, but I do think the RE part is where some of the craziness you hear about comes from (very optimistic return assumptions, moving countries for healthcare) vs FI which is both generally a good idea and much more attainable for most folks.

No where better to get unfiltered Mets despair.

New entry into the housing discourse.

It's my tri-state bias, but ppl regularly trade sq/lot size per $ for walkable downtowns and Metro north/lirr/njt. There's usually a pretty high premium on it. Just so happens one of the very few places that system exists in the US.

Not buying it.

Thinking of the 23 Gov race. Mississippi Dems built different.

Still on your peloton game? Was honestly some of your peak posting.

I knew it was getting renewed for another season when they introduced 'Fake Bill DeBlasio'.
November 4, 2025 at 3:23 AM
I think, similar to Biden in 24, we potentially underestimate how many ppl assume he's still running having not followed the race at all.

I think we could solve NJ energy price problem by harnessing and storing this site's collective anxiety tomorrow.

I'd like to think this developed sometime between the 14th and 16th inning.

But I have it on good authority Manhattan will sink into the Hudson on Nov 5th.

It's what we deserve.

All fair points. I think it's just a really hard race to map historically. Agree that regardless there'll be an effort to map to NYS/beyond in a way his *current* numbers don't support. Disagree on what a 'eh' performance looks like against Cuomo. (Though my floor is probably higher than the OP)
October 17, 2025 at 1:34 PM
Normally a Cuomo type (massive name recognition, connected, ability to fundraise) doesn't run post a lost primary bc they don't want torch their future chances as a Dem. That's not really his concern!
October 17, 2025 at 1:12 PM
I don't disagree with the idea he might underperform compared to Bsky expectations, but I don't think this is why it's a 3 (and at one point 4) person race. Cuomo is a unicorn in a lot of ways including this maybe being his last shot at running on this type of race.

Semi seriously, declaring it and having special protocols about how to officiate it including where they stand would be a big improvement.

For all its warts, it's pretty cool most of the subway is 24/7. Fairly unique even by global standards.
October 9, 2025 at 5:15 PM
Yea, we kinda forget the PV bc of the EC, but even Reagan's 1984 wipeout..still didn't get more than 60% of the vote. Historically it seems like there is always 40% for something.
October 1, 2025 at 3:46 PM
Who also hit different constituencies, have pretty solid name recognition, and at least one is better funded than most.
September 11, 2025 at 4:37 PM
It doesn't help that it appears 90% of Bluesky is Mets fans.
September 10, 2025 at 1:34 AM
It's weird there can't be an acknowledgement that, yes, Politico and Axios do a bunch of bad faith framing or 'Dems in Disarray' articles sourced by an ex-blue dog retired consultant while also being pretty clearly well sourced on Dem leadership and often times at least directionally correct.

Or a new design rollout by EO?? Whose to say.
September 1, 2025 at 5:05 PM
Basketball, imo, is the worst example to use. Being a fan of players more than a team has been going on forever. The Lakers almost always had a star (similar with Boston) which probably had as much to do with the Lakers having such a big fan base.
