I think often about how an old teacher of mine told me to learn Spanish instead of Japanese for practicality
But here I am having worked exclusively with Japanese companies, worked on teams with Japanese-only speakers, and having played 10+ years of Japanese rhythm games

I wasn't sad in the moment because I'm always excited for the other person - they're amazing players and i'm honored to match with them, but it sucks to have prepped so hard to not even be remotely comparable to the three others in my pool
