This is my kind of good trouble.
In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

People erroneously assume communists have some innate desire for revolution and bloodshed, but the reality is most just understand it to be historically necessary and thus believe we should organize and learn in accordance with that knowledge.

A useful essay. It strikes me again while reading this that it's through critical analysis of the care economy that the stakes of a Marxist labor theory of value versus a Marxian critique of the labor theory of value should come most starkly into view.

Something I find fascinating here is I think it shows, in rather stark terms, the difference between creating value and simply shifting revenue. Sometimes the more cynical of us like to pretend the broader economy is just this…one huge circle. But the creation of actual value is distinct from this.
