Identifying a macroeconomic shock on households is hard when there is no explicit treated group, discontinuity of the shock on any dimension, and if the shock is time-varying along with too many confounding variables.

I will present G-estimation and introduce GQ-learning tomorrow at #SEA2024. G-estimation with IVs shows time-varying treatment effects on households. GQ-learning can generate artificial monthly household choices from biennial survey data.
