Honored to speak at the 2025 Georgia Resiliency Conference. Presented my research on the 2020 Bassfield, MS tornado and the advantages of using the Bare Soil Index for tornado detection and surveying.
I'm working on another project involving another tornado, should be out soon!

Quick Bare Soil Index (BSI) analysis on the recently rated EF5 Enderlin, ND tornado. Amazing how much soil exposure had occurred!

The National Weather Service has upgraded the Enderlin, ND to an EF5. This marks the first time since an EF5 was rated 12 years ago, in 2013. Also interesting to note, this tornado also occurred on the same date as the 1957 Fargo, ND tornado.

At 11AM EDT the National Hurricane Center has upgraded PTC 9 to Tropical Depression 9. This storm is expected to become Tropical Storm #Imelda later today.
Latest models trending away from landfall and likely to recurve out to sea.
11pm National Hurricane Center Advisory 4 update on Tropical Depression Nine. This storm is likely to become the named storm Imelda. The forecast cone tracks along the Southeastern US and curves out to sea by Wednesday.

I have created a map that allows users to determine where optimal viewing areas are for atmospheric and weather phenomena on ArcGIS Online! This map also includes NWS watches/warnings, radar, and satellite imagery.
