yes! that is one of the fics i was thinking of when I wrote this. it's been very long since i've read it and i'm not sure it was finished when i did, it's such a good fic

eventually his behavior becomes too odd for his friends to ignore it and think, just what is up with this guy. and it's all of this that culminates into him having a palace. where his friends are safe and happy and unharmed....

one might even call it an "ideal reality" :^)
