Recent unsealed internal messages from Facebook expose FB 100% knew they trained their GenAi on stolen works. It also shows how concerned FB is that lawmakers listen to rightholders (creatives, academics, etc) of the works they stole.

Facebook walks through its risk mitigation in detail in this evidence previously marked, "attorneys eyes only." I'm super interested in this note which reads as if they established a threshold on memorization rate which Zuckerberg and leadership decided was acceptable risk. /4
