Other wacky critters include the Scalyfoot Snail (they secrete iron based plating on their mantle) and I thought it’d be fun to have a bunch of merfolk inspired by them running a forge next to a hydrothermal chimney in the zine

I also want to shout-out once more to @molomoot.bsky.social who drew the super cool map of the Astral Sea for the zine - with so many lovely details in (like bigfin squid, and pyrosomes and the giant whalefall)!!

Cool stuff this #ttrpg zine has within includes:
- A whole beached whale dungeon
- Oceanic hex and depth crawls for shallow water zone and the abyssal depths
- A final dungeon that is just the regrowing corpse of a divine whale

Surprise late timezone post - I've gotten back to the whalefall #ttrpg zine - working on the plans for the final dungeon now - the inside of a whale leviathan deity - but presently I do want to share the outside map - which will have three entrances/points of ingress (write up in progress)

Another entry is the Squid Gathering- it's a more classic hostile location but I wanted to include light usage changing up the experience - so if the party uses more light, the squid will see them immediately as food, and info is available on how to cloak light sources or make distracting flashbangs

I've been working on ensuring each location has an interesting tidbit, whether it is a marine fauna spotlight or something else - so this entry shows off siphonophores which can get up to several metres long irl and acts as a bonus route on the depth crawl

Hi all! It's #ttrpg update time - the abyssal depths depthcrawl is the 2nd half of the whalefall #zine - featuring rollable tables of deep sea locations and encounters as the adventure party makes their way to the Leviathan's Graveyard, a corpse of the whale divine, to avert a necromancy plot

I also wanted to experiment with making hexcrawls and depthcrawls (the ocean seems good for that) - so you get to roam around a bay region full of odd fish, fish people & things like the Oyster Kings (aka an oyster hivemind)

Realised I could just share design process thoughts on bluesky - so hi all - this is the deepsea whalefall fantasy #ttrpg adventure I am making a #zine for - where the dungeons are like necromantically animated beached whale corpse and whalefall graveyard on top of the corpse of a whale deity

Happily showing this off because it took a weekend’s worth of handsewing, because the ladder stitch is a pain - part of the same costume project as the sword I shared prev - it’s a big sash belt cummerbund like thing that goes with the gathered blouse

Random update but I have made a Sword (out of foam clay, cardboard, super glue, thermoplastic and paper mache) - more prop updates to follow - it has been fun
