It's a handy phrase one can throw in when you want people to know you are stupid but haven't got time to explain why you think vaccines are bad.

I would have licencing of SUVs based on both ability to drive them and the need to have them. It funny how families have got smaller but the cars have got bigger. Either that or tax them to high heaven.

So your issue is with enforcement not that it would be an unjustified infringement of civil liberties? On enforcement, the prohibition itself in most cases would probably suffice as a deterrent and where it does not, I believe a fixed penalty notice issued on the train would assist.

Why though? Why does the selfish passengers 'freedom' to play music out loud trump the innocent passengers 'freedom' to enjoy a relatively quiet journey?

Why isn't it the business of the state? You are clearly basing this on blanket liberal ideology and feel this is sufficient. I would rather base the decision on a specific value judgement of whose train experience should be given then primacy.

Yes, without doubt a more effective road safety measure would be to ban SUVs etc.

Yes, but this change is about death by dangerous driving penalties, which potentially carries a life sentence - www.sentencingcouncil.org.uk/offences/cro...

Yes and it is for this reason why prosecutions of cyclists for death by dangerous cycling will be relatively rare. But where a cyclist has been found to be cycling dangerously and killed someone, I am not sure why it should be treated differently to someone doing so in car.

Definitely cars but a lot of parents I speak to are also very concerned about dogs, the type of dogs and the number that there are now and their concerns are borne out by the statistics - www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Dog attacks up across England and Wales over past five years
The number of people injured by out-of-control dogs has gone up in recent years, new data shows.

People often mistakenly believe that the right to vote is proof that a democracy is alive. In reality, the right to vote is often the last broken vestige left after democracy has long since been suffocated and died - see the Russian Federation. America is now many steps down that dark path. Resist.
