By comparing their envisioned future at graduation versus the reality, the comedy skit shows how Chinese graduates are reacting to the tough job market with humor and exaggeration (similar to ‘lie flat’). But there is also a certain amount of truth in it.

I believe China’s economic development — which gave rise to Chinese consumers’ spending power — owes much to its authoritarian regime, and its problems stem from it as well. 2/3
