I feel like it's almost like a thing like sugar, where after awhile you kind of don't need it since everything just starts tasting fine without it, it's just easier to use other spices too

That's fair, I don't think it's known how complete the backwards compatibility will be, so that's probably a smart idea, but like you said definitely waiting for a big sale first then lol

If there's a trade in deal to make it like $200ish it wouldn't be too bad just for the improvements and backwards compatibility, but $80/$90 Mario Kart is still crazy
